11/05/2021 - Articles and publications

Altana advised the German listed company Mutares on the acquisition of La Rochette, the Savoy-based carton packaging specialist, from the Italian group Reno de Medici.

La Rochette, which employs nearly 300 employees and generated a turnover of around €120 million in 2020, manufactures and markets packaging and folding cartons mainly for the pharma and food packaging industries. This acquisition allows Mutares to strengthen its sector expertise and to complete its portfolio in the paper industry, which already included Cenpa and keeeper Stotzheim.

After Lapeyre, Carglass and Primetals, this acquisition is already the fourth in a few months for the German investor.

France is the second most significant country in Mutares portfolio, with around ten equity holdings.

With this transaction, Altana once again distinguished itself on strategic M&A transactions for international groups.
