Altana advises TechnoFounders on a new round of financing

02/08/2019 - Articles and publications

Altana is advising TechnoFounders on the new €23 million round of financing for TF Participations, its investment holding company dedicated to deeptech start-ups. Bpifrance through its French Tech Acceleration Fund is thus pursuing its mission of supporting the hexagonal Deep Tech based on breakthrough innovations. Groupama Rhône-Alpes and family offices, including that of the Aulas family, are also participating in this new round of funding from TF Participations.

Founded in 2014 by Pierre and Olivier Le Blainvaux and Yves Matton, TechnoFounders is a “Startup studio” specialising in the creation of young technology companies based on work from French universities, laboratories and research centres (CNRS, INRIA, INRA, CNES…).

This new round of funding follows the €5 million round in 2017 and strengthens TF Participations’ financing capacity, whose role is to invest in the wake of TechnoFounders following the creation of startups, and then to reinvest later alongside external investors.

Altana’s team, which works closely with TechnoFounders’ management, is composed of Fabien Pouchot (Partner) and Aurore Lacroix (Associate).  Altana had previously advised TechnoFounders on TF Participations’ first round of financing in 2017.  Bpifrance was advised by the law firm Chammas et Marcheteau with Lola Chammas (Partner) and Romain Penloup (Associate).
